April 3rd 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the bio-based new material production project of Hubei SanshuBio New Materials Co., Ltd. was held in the Food Industrial Park of Xiangzhou District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province.
SanshuBio is a high-tech company established by a group of young and cutting-edge technical elites in China synthetic biology field, through its unique synthetic biology technology on tuber crops, has moved its biosynthesis factory into plant cells, promoting a revolution in modern agricultural production models with updated biotechnology means and creating special starches with new material functions. Including full Amylose /amylopectin starch and its deep processing products, widely applied in the field of healthy food, bio-pharmaceutical, green packaging, adhesives, construction and home furnishings, textiles, papermaking, etc.
Since SanshuBio entered to special starch-based new materials field, has established a complete industrial chain operation model covering gene editing, new varieties breeding, cell factories, until special starch-based industrial products to the market.
Hubei SanshuBio Xiangyang factory is based on the sweet potato industry. The potato development project in Xinjiang Yili is also proceeding simultaneously. The next step is to continue the construction of a cassava industry base to complete the whole map of investment layout in the three major tube crops.
